Former Olympian Ryan Wedding Faces New Charges as Reward Climbs to $15 Million
Federal officials announced new charges on Wednesday against Ryan James Wedding, a former Canadian Olympic snowboarder who has been on the run for more than a year and is now one of the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted fugitives.
Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed that Wedding is now facing accusations of murder, witness tampering, money laundering, and major drug trafficking, expanding the case far beyond the initial charges filed in 2024. According to officials, the most serious new charge stems from Wedding’s alleged involvement in the killing of a federal witness in Colombia who had been cooperating with investigators.

Bondi emphasized the severity of the case, saying the protection of witnesses is fundamental to the justice system and critical to upholding the rule of law.
Authorities say Wedding led a violent drug network that allegedly moved large quantities of cocaine from Colombia through Mexico and into the United States and Canada. Officials believe the group is responsible for at least four killings, including two members of a Canadian family who were reportedly misidentified and murdered in retaliation for a stolen shipment.
Wedding has also been charged with drug trafficking in Canada. Despite multi-agency efforts, he has managed to evade capture. Investigators believe he may be hiding somewhere in Mexico.
